Maths Strategies

You did this well Cindy. You could have used multiplication in solving this problem, but you chose addition. This problem lends itself to multiplication because the amounts are the same for each day.
I am not sure you worked out how many weeks Shreya would have to save to buy the $54 doll.
I think I was able to work out the answer quickly since I didn’t need any help using the strategy of skip counting. Some of the things that helped me were: I didn’t need to use any money or draw a picture to help me. My next step is to try to use the multiplication strategy.
