Your comments are well thought out Cindy and a pleasure to read. I agree with you about how peaceful this war poem is compared with the other 3 we have looked at. However, it is very idealistic and not really reflective of the realities of war or how people felt about the war by the end of 1918. This is more how they felt at the start of the war in 1914. They all thought the war would end quickly but instead it went on for 4 years.
